I go to Naples at least 3/4 times a year and on my return it is now tradition to bring back buffalo mozzarella. I have tried many dairies that are on the way back but Caseifico Russo was absolutely the best. The mozzarella had a completely different taste and even the next day it looked like it was freshly made. They also have other dairy products but I must say that on these other things they are all more or less the same.
The buffalo is a sacred animal for us dairy product lovers. And this is a mythological area for mozzarella and various attractions for the palate. At the Caseificio Russo there is a lot of choice, excellent products and helpful people inside the store. Yes, you can also pay by credit card and debit card (I underline this since in the area it can happen that they tell you "the line isn't working today").
The best buffalo mozzarella I've ever eaten; it is also possible to consume on site
for 20 years now every time we come up from Naples it has been a fixed stop... top buffalo mozzarella! and if you are travelling, have it put in the polystyrene packaging. The provola cheese is also VERY GOOD for baked pasta and bread.
